Hello! I'm Murtaza Amjad, a passionate Computer Science student at the University of New Haven with aspirations to become a Software Engineer and AI Security Specialist. My journey in technology is driven by a deep fascination with artificial intelligence and its intersection with cybersecurity. I believe in the power of technology to create positive change while ensuring it remains secure and ethical.
As a student, I'm immersing myself in both theoretical knowledge and practical applications of software engineering, AI, and security. I'm developing a strong foundation in cybersecurity principles, machine learning concepts, and software development. My coursework includes advanced algorithms, machine learning, network security, and ethical hacking. I actively participate in coding competitions, hackathons, and security challenges to apply my knowledge in real-world scenarios.
I'm actively learning and working with Python for AI/ML applications with TensorFlow and scikit-learn. I'm also gaining experience with Front End Development with JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS. My recent projects include developing a portfolio website, course recommendation system, and car dealership management system. Some of my current projects I am working on are cross-platform file transfer system software, IBM DevOps & Software Engineering Certificate, and an AI-powered threat detection system. I'm also exploring cloud computing and cloud security, containerization with Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
I'm passionate about the latest developments in AI security and cybersecurity. I dedicate time to personal projects, hackathons, online courses/certifications, and research in areas like adversarial machine learning and AI model security. My goal is to contribute to the software development of several robust AI systems that can withstand sophisticated cyber attacks. I'm particularly interested in developing AI-powered security solutions, exploring software development, and researching ways to make machine learning models more resilient to adversarial attacks.
As a practicing Muslim, I dedicate time to deepening my understanding of Islam and its principles. I'm an avid sports enthusiast who enjoys gym workouts, playing sports, and watching anime. In sports, I follow soccer closely, particularly the LaLiga and Champions League. Physical fitness is a key part of my daily routine, helping me maintain a balanced lifestyle while pursuing my technical & professional ambitions.
Family and community are central to who I am. I cherish spending quality time with family and friends, sharing meals, engaging in discussions, and exploring new places together. These relationships shape my perspective on life. I actively participate in tech meetups, mentor junior students in programming, and volunteer at local STEM education initiatives. As President of the Computer Programming Club at the University of New Haven, I organize events and workshops to foster learning and professional growth to club members. I believe in giving back to the community and using my skills to help others learn and grow in the field of technology.
